I intended for my second blog to be about Fierce listening. What it is and how to do it. Instead, I have the gift of writing to you about my experience at the women's March in Washington D C last weekend.
Fierce listening will come next time. Today I want to write about the word fierce. When I was working on a project several years ago with several women I was cautioned against using the word fierce. Their objection was that it sounded violent and warlike. Thankfully those days are behind me and the word fierce and the strong powerful energy it conveys is showing up in our lexicon more frequently.
As I walked with 500,000 other women, men and children I passed out cards that carry this quote by author Jeffrey Wright. He tweeted this the day after the election. The cards read, "may the election of trump bring forth the fiercest, smartest, toughest generation of ass kicking women this country could possibly imagine."
"may the election of Trump bring forth the fiercest, smartest, toughest generation of ass kicking women this country could possibly imagine."
On January 21st 2017 the day after his inauguration Jeffrey Rights intention proved prophetic. The power, unity, inclusion and diversity and that gathering of half a million women in D C and another two and a half million in sister marches all over the world created an energetic vortex that changed the planet forever.
What we experienced was fierce love. We experienced it in its full power. In my book Sacred Marching Orders I describe the solar feminine as a strong, powerful Love in action created by women standing in their power and acting from love. This was the energy of the three million women marching for a planet that includes and nurtures all. The subtitle of Sacred Marching Orders is, "Igniting the Solar Feminine at the Dawn of a New Age" Marianne Williamson's endorsement, "women's owning our power and using it strategically and collaboratively is what our planet desperately needs. Sacred Marching Orders is a call to action to channel our passion into the healing of the world."
"women owning our power and using it strategically and collaboratively is what our planet desperately needs."
solar feminine catalyst
Here we are. Donald Trump's inauguration was the previous day. Who could have guessed that his election would be the catalyst for the inauguration of the solar feminine. Celia Fenn, announced the bringing forth of the solar feminine energy through Kuan Yin in 2005. She describes the solar feminine as being strong, passionate, creative, and energetic.
"She describes the solar feminine as being strong, passionate, creative and energetic."
I felt the solar feminine was marching on January 22nd 2017. The creativity of the signs and costumes and the passionate energy was unprecedented
Further Evidence of this energetic vortex is described beautifully in Carolyn Myss's blog written on January 23rd. Her interpretation of what happened energetically with the women's march reads as follows." I believe what happened yesterday was that the fragmented energy of the feminine became focused and unified. I believe we felt it somehow - consciously or unconsciously - melt into our blood and bones in that soft silent way that Grace enters our soul." She continues to write in her blog about the evidence of this truth. I recommend reading her blog in its entirety.
We now see movements within this movement. Van Jones has created # Love Army. Revolutionary Love is becoming mainstream. Andrew Harvey, mystic and teacher of the Divine Feminine has been using the phrase Fierce Love for some time.
Who could have ever imagined that Donald Trump would be the catalyst for this massive movement into the power of love in action.
Years ago I discovered an old Celtic round that goes, " A river of birds in migration. A nation of women with wings." These word struck me so strongly that I wrote them on a small piece of paper and carried them with me for many years.
The day Obama was elected I was walking my dog, Daisy, at dawn. It was that magical time of day when a full moon was still high in the sky even as it was turning orange pink from the rising sun. As I was standing looking up in awe at the heavens a river of birds flew overhead. This went on and on in an endless stream as I stood, chills running through my body. The election of Obama created celebration throughout the world as well as in our nation. In his campaign he implored us to understand that democracy requires participation by all of us. Now we are here, knowing without a shadow of a doubt that this is true.
"Democracy requires participation by all of us."
The words of that Celtic round, has taken on a meaning that I feel in every fiber of my body.
